We are Angry
The racist violence that killed George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless others, is not new to America. Systemic racism forces us to, once again, call for justice. We already know racial disparities persist in wealth, education, employment, housing, and health care.
But…we must not give up hope. We stand together with these brave young adults who have the courage to let their voices be heard. We continue to provide a safe space where all are welcome. Where everyone is encouraged to speak. Where we continue to fight for social justice.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people, but the silence over that by the good people.”
We stand together with our brave young people. We are listening, and we are with you.
Black Lives Matter.
